By now you are aware of the National Day of Prayer, which is officially recognized on the first Thursday of May, this year on May 7. As you’ve heard or read, we are partnering with the Daughters of the King to celebrate our historic legacy and raise our combined voices in prayer on that day. There are materials available from the National Day of Prayer organization by visiting this link National Day of Prayer.
In addition, members of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew and the Daughters of the King joined together to record scripture and the standard national prayers, as well as some history of the National Day of Prayer, on a beautiful video which you can reach on YouTube at Day of Prayer Partnership Video.
We strongly encourage you to join with local chapter members or members of your DoK chapter close by over a Zoom call, or share this message and link with your rector, parish community, family, co-workers, friends and neighbors and listen to the video together if possible on May 7. The video has been created as a resource for you to celebrate this important day for our nation.
We need prayer. Our nation needs prayer. Together let us raise up our eyes, hands and voices to call upon our Lord to give us strength during these days of uncertainty. Our intentional prayers together can do so much to heal our world.
Peace Be With You!
